The brief

Build a brand and portfolio site for an Australian audio and media studio where the work itself is the primary sales argument.

The problem

An audio studio's portfolio is not visual, which is a genuine problem for a medium that is. The site had to carry rich media prominently while still holding a strong visual identity for a product you experience with your ears.

What was built

  • Bold, brand-led visual design
  • Portfolio and case study pages with rich media
  • Service descriptions and enquiry funnels
  • Subtle motion and a refined sound-meets-strategy aesthetic

Technologies used

  • WordPress
  • Rich media embedding
  • Custom theme
  • Motion accents

Technical challenges

Presenting audio work on a visual medium

Case study pages lead with playable media supported by a strong typographic and visual treatment, so the portfolio still reads as designed work when a visitor is scanning rather than listening.

Rich media without a heavy page

Media is loaded on demand rather than on page load, so a portfolio-heavy site stays responsive and a visitor only downloads the work they actually choose to play.

Outcome

A portfolio-forward agency site where audio work is presented with a strong visual identity and media loads on demand rather than up front.
